Red Cross teams with Price Chopper for flood relief

Red Cross teams with Price Chopper for flood relief

Price Chopper and the American Red Cross have teamed up to raise funds to help local victims of this spring’s heavy rains and floods.

From now until the end of May, $1 from every fresh-made pizza sold (both hot or cold for take-out) at any of Price Chopper’s 48 stores in the Capital Region and the North Country will be donated to the American Red Cross of Northeastern New York’s Spring Storms 2011 Local Disaster Relief efforts.

Price Chopper brings "locally grown" fish to consumers

Price Chopper has become the first supermarket retailer in the country to sell Hudson-based Local Ocean's "locally grown" sea bream.

Local Ocean is growing sustainable, ocean-based varieties of salt water fish using a contained farming process that includes a closed loop water system. They will be delivering the sea bream, and eventually other varieties of fish, to six Price Chopper stores in New York including Hudson, Shoppers World in Clifton Park, Loudon Plaza in Latham, Bethlehem, Niskayuna and Saratoga Springs (Route 50). The Sea bream, most of which weigh about a pound, will be offered at $9.99 per pound.
