The journey continues for Hudson's Sean Delaney  when he takes the stage this evening at the Upperdeck in Gloversville. The aspiring hip hop artist will be performing with other up and coming young artists including T.J. Fredette, the brother of basketball standout Jimmer Fredette.

The 1998 graduate of Hudson High School has been writing rap songs since he was 12 years old.

"I was inspired by Jay-Z  and my English teacher Michele Pierro," he said.

Delaney  has  performed in Hudson and Albany as well as in bigger cities such as Washington D.C., Baltimore and New York City.

"Many of those performances were to promote my 'Open Your Eyes' video," he said.

Delaney was formerly employed by the Special Needs Program as a direct support professional working with those with autism and other developmental disabilities and  felt it was important to get their story out to his generation. The song is a plea to his generation to  open their eyes and become aware of this growing population.

Delaney, who now works with troubled teenagers at the Berkshire Farm Center and Services for Youth in Canaan, N.Y., recently worked on a new project aimed at helping that age bracket.

"I am especially proud of my 5 Steps to Success CD," Delaney added.

The series of five rap songs focuses on getting good grades, bullying, cutting class etc. It was developed along with  the assistance of his friend and colleague Dr. John Pelizza , local motivational speaker and psychologist. Delaney has performed this series at several local schools.

Delaney's entrepreneurial spirit has also driven him to create his own clothing line, the Sincerely Dedicated Clothing Company.

"We offer a full line of hoodies, T-shirts and other clothing items," Delaney said with a proud smile on his face.

Delaney  lives in Hudson with his fiance Shannon -- whom he will marry in November, his pint sized fans Savannah and Sean and their dog Lennon -- named after the former Beatle.

"My goal is to make music for a living and fullfill a life long dream," Delaney said with a twinkle in his eyes.

With the support of his loving family and friends he is well on his way.
